I am looking into the possibility of setting up an inter-club friendly on 9th January 2010, as a warm up for the thirds first league fixture after the break and to get some new players who have been attending training / older Vixens playing too. Well done to those who played on Saturday... we were unlucky not to have taken the full 3 points!
Please let Caz know your availability for this Saturday 14th Nov against Gloucester, if you have not done so already. We already have a number of players available but need to make sure we consider everyone when going into selection on Tuesday and the maximum number of players we can take is 16.
We are also looking to put on a friendly on Saturday 21st November at 5.00 at Bournside as we now have no league fixture that week - this will hopefully involve people who have been playing for the third team, along with some of the Vixens and other new players. Please can you let Caz know ASAP if you are available to play then.

Shipton Oliffe (0) Lansdown Ladies 3 XI (1)
Lansdown Ladies 3 XI continued their strong start to the season with a 1-0 win over Shipton Oliffe.
Lansdown applied pressure on the Shipton defence in the first half with strong runs by Liddy Ellis, Holly Davies and Natalie Jones but were not rewarded with a goal. Man of the Match Nicola Beattie play solidly in midfield distributing the ball out onto both wings and feeding the forwards.
The second half proved to be tense, with Shipton being awarded 3 short corners in a row but the Lansdown defence held strong with some great saves by goal keeper Rebecca Chislett. After some well worked play by Lansdown on a long corner, Sara Thompson received the ball at the top of the D and slotted the ball cleanly into the bottom corner of the goal. Both teams continued to create chances up until the final whistle but Lansdown were able to remain on top.
This was another well fought win for Lansdown who take on Wotton-Under-Edge next weekend at home.
