Selection Guidelines

Selection is at the discretion of Captains with the following being taken into account (in no particular order):

  • Availability
  • Payment of subscriptions and match fees
  • Training attendance

Players Responsibilities

ALL players have a responsibility to:

  • Provide availability details as requested by your Captain – the more notice the better.
  • Provide as much advance notice as possible when it is necessary to “call off” before a match to enable the Captain to deal with the problem without detriment to any side within the Club.
  • Let their Captain know whether they are able to attend training or not (this is key where sides are provided with coaching).
  • Help their Captain by phoning in for match details rather than waiting to be contacted (its one call for you rather than 10+ for your Captain!).
  • Slot into to higher or lower sides as requested, particularly if you are unable to play at the time your normal side is playing – this is about being a Club member.
  • Return to the clubhouse to entertain your opposition.
  • Commit to all matches, not just league games.

Captains Responsibilities

Your Captains will:

  • Work together to get the best result for the Club, moving players as appropriate to fill gaps and enable players to play at their best level.
  • Try and give you as much notice as possible about the team you are playing for.
